Welcome to Peyton’s Passport
A travel & lifestyle blog for those craving luxurious moments on modest budgets.
This is a blog for all people who have a lust for travel & a life much more luxurious than their wallets would allow.
If you have champagne tastes & a beer budget, I’m here to help!
I have dreamed of travel since I was a little girl & am finally pursuing those dreams while also working a 9-5 and gaining financial freedom.
I have been debt free since mid 2018 and would love to help you do the same! With smart budgeting, constant motivation, & accountability, you can lead a life that has room for luxury. Will we be living like the Kardashians? Certainly not. But you’ll be able to experience moments where you feel like royalty…. Did I just backhandedly compare the Kardashians to royalty? Perhaps…
As I said, since I was a little girl, I dreamed of traveling all over the world. The first destination I dreamed of visiting was Fiji. Then I dreamed of living in New York (still kind of do). From there, I’ve continued to learn about this big, beautiful world we live in & how I want to gobble it all up.
I got sidetracked from that dream & kept saying that eventually I would start saving. But I allowed a few things got in my way… One; the industry I worked in. Secondly, my shopping addiction
I worked in high end retail for several years & absolutely loved my job! But I’ve always been the way I am… I have expensive taste! Line up 10 black dresses with the prices hidden & I will somehow pick the most expensive as my favorite.
This problem only got worse the longer I worked in retail & the higher up I got. Constantly being inundated with the latest & greatest the best lines & designers had to offer made it impossible for me to say no.
So I found myself living paycheck to paycheck and having to constantly ask my parents for money. (SO EMBARRASSING!) Even though I was making pretty decent money, I was incredibly dumb with it & eventually realized that I couldn’t fight my addiction if I was in this environment. It’d be like an alcoholic working at a brewery. Seems ridiculous right?
So I left the retail industry & got an office job. Excited for obvious reasons but also worried that I would find it boring. What I’ve realized after years of working at a desk is that it’s totally OK to have a job that you aren’t passionate about. My job PAYS for my passions & at this point in my life, that’s what’s important to me.
After taking my first trip to Belize, I became obsessed. I had been dreaming of this for so long and after having the most magical week there, my priorities completely changed. I no longer wanted things, but craved memories and experiences.
My job pays my bills and allows for me to pursue my passions: Travel and fashion. Yes, I’m still wildly passionate about fashion. I just don’t blow my whole paycheck on my wardrobe anymore.
I live frugally so I can experience small luxuries every once in a while. While I travel, I truly enjoy staying hostels. Both for the opportunities it provides to meet new people, as well as the financial savings. On the flip side though, I love a massage on the beach and will spend a pretty penny on experiences like skydiving or hang-gliding should the opportunity arise.
While I travel like a backpacker, I certainly don’t dress like one. Even wearing jeans is a push for me. I don’t think that you always have to sacrifice style for function. I like looking good because it makes me feel good.
So I’m here to help you accomplish all this as well!
Want to look good while traveling on a shoe string budget? I can help!
Want to pursue financial freedom and also experience the world? I can help!
Want to know where you should splurge and what you should skip at a certain destination? I can definitely help with that one.
