Early February 2019 in Washington, DC was a bitter time weather-wise. Temperatures are low, winds are high, and the precipitation fluctuates between freezing rain and snowfall. However, in my fantasy life, as soon as New Years has passed, I’m ready for Spring! Lucky for me, I was able to pull out some of my favorite Spring pieces early for my New Orleans trip! My first Spring look was a dress that I anticipate pulling out every year and will continue to be one of my favorites… In fact, I wish I had purchased 2!
This dress from BP Nordstrom is one of my favorite dresses I’ve ever owned and I relish pulling it out every year. While I usually shop consignment or secondhand on sites like Poshmark, I found this gem at Nordstrom and couldn’t say no to the $75 price tag.

The sunglasses for my first Spring look are one of my crown jewels when it comes to bargain hunting. As soon as I saw Carole wearing them, I knew I’d never needed a single accessory as much in my entire life. However, a quick google search quickly deflated me when I realized they’re $1,500!!!! An absolutely INSANE amount to pay for sunglasses in my opinion. But I kept up my internet sleuthing and managed to find a look-a-like pair on eBay (with free shipping!) for only $7! The seller has great reviews and I got my pair in less than 2 weeks. You can shop their page here. Or you can now snag them on Amazon for $12.99 and Prime shipping.
Since I have a back injury and a torn meniscus in my knee that I’m still nursing, I went with
I feel flirty, sexy, gorgeous & comfortable all at the same time in this outfit. Polka dots are a favorite Spring staple of mine and I’m sure you’ll see plenty more in the coming months!
