One of the many things that have come out of the Coronavirus pandemic has been my inordinent amount of time spent online.
Thankfully, it has been fruitful!
Between TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram, I’ve found so many items that are meant to make life better and ones I probably would’ve never thought to search for!
Others on this list are items I found on my own and believe they’ve made my life just a tiny bit bitter during this uncertain time.
If you’re going to be stuck at home, you might as well enjoy it as much as possible, right!?
If you don’t have an iPad stand, I honestly don’t know how you function in life. This one also works for your phone and is fully adjustable. It’s basically attached to my iPad at all times.
Step in to “real” adulthood and purchase a steamer to get all those wrinkles out of your clothes. Dear God, I hope you haven’t been use leaving the house covered in wrinkles. If you have, I’ve noticed and low key judged you for it. Professionals should have wrinkle free and clean clothes on when they leave the house. A chic and small option like this is really all you need for a single person home. Trust me, if you haven’t used one before, your life will be changed and you’ll never look back.
Whether you want a hidden cam to make sure your kids aren’t throwing parties while you’re out of town for the weekend, or a bachelorette that just wants to watch her pup while she’s at the office, this is the camera to do it with. The clarity is insane and the interface on your phone is so easy to use.
Steamery Fabric Shaver
Do you know what “pilling” is? It’s those little fuzzy balls that happen in the armpits or you wool sweaters or in between the thighs of your Lululemon leggings. This is your solution. To be honest, there are plenty of effective options for shaving off pills (that require more effort) but this one is just so cute and easy, I couldn’t pass it up!
Rapid Ramen Cooker
Rapid Ramen Cooker
Does this look familiar? Perhaps you remember it from Shark Tank! I actually found this way before I discovered my love of Shark Tank and let me tell you, it’s a kitchen essential! You never know when you’ll take a financial hit (Hey girl hey, COVID!) or when you’ll come home after a night on the town and want those salty noodles. This nifty doodad cooks them perfectly in the microwave in just 3 minutes! Don’t sleep on this one because it’s a product you’ll regret not having handy when it’s too late.
Ahhhh, the infamous TikTok electric razor. And guess what… They’re right—this thing’s amazing! If you buy those big Yankee Candles like me, this is perfect for that point when they more than half burned. Actually, it’s perfect for just about any and every candle or incense you have to light!
Wine Opener & Foil Cutter
Wine Opener & Foil Cutter
If you’re anything like me, your wine consumption has skyrocketed the last few weeks. We can call it my happy juice. These fun little gadgets make opening it a fun experience! Cut the foil off the top and remove the cork with ease using the electric opener!
Blue Light Glasses
Blue Light Glasses
If you haven’t jumped on this trend, you really should. Especially now, when it’s likely you’re spending much more time in front of a screen than you have in the past. I can only provide anecdotal evidence but my headaches have dramatically reduced since using these and I’m able to fall asleep so much faster! These cute styles are dirt cheap and I get constant compliments when I wear them.
Just before the quarantine, I was the recipient of an unfortunate haircut. Because of this, I’ve been heat styling my hair more since it doesn’t look as good curly until I’m able to get the cut fixed. After burning my hand when releasing the hair from my hot tool one too many times, I realized this product was a MUST. That’s no way to start your day! I’ve loved having it and would recommend one to anyone who heat styles.
Retractable Lint Roller
Do you have dogs or cats? What about a fluffy white blanket? If so, you know the importance of tools to remove hair and lint. These are a chic way to do so! Throw one in your bag or keep one at your desk to make sure you always look put together.
We all love to listen to our favorite music or podcasts in the shower! Rather than leaving your phone outside the shower and having to dry your hand every time you want to skip a song or commercial, listen with ease just using the buttons on this speaker! I also love it because my bathroom is right next to my housemate’s bedroom and it allows me to listen to my music at a much quieter level since it’s inside the shower with me.
Electric Pepper Mill
Electric Salt & Pepper Mills
Another electric tool for the kitchen! Is it necessary? No. Is it super fun? Absolutely. The best part about this set is that the batteries are included!
While I would discourage you from using a wireless charger too often since they decrease battery life in the long-run, it’s important to have one on hand. I found this out in Panama when my charging port temporarily stopped working because it was too wet. The wireless charger allowed me to continue to use my phone carefree!
I mean, come on! Who doesn’t want one of these? While people I know who have the brand name Roomba swear by it, you can definitely settle for an inexpensive dupe that still gets the job done. We’ve ordered this model and anticipate its arrival in late June since obviously supply chains are little wacky right now.
After I was sexually harassed on the Metro during the quarantine–and the subsequent bumbling of handling my report by the police–I realized it’s of the utmost importance to feel safe. I like this pepperspray because it is kind of cute, compact and has a quick release button. To avoid having to worry about that and to say (without saying) “Do not f*** with me!” I wear it around my neck with my Metro card on a lanyard.
I suffer from chronic migraines and headaches. One day, years ago, my friend showed me the “L14 acupuncture point.” Basically a spot in the squishy place between your thumb and forefinger. Applying pressure to this point can relieve headaches and migraines. Does it work for everyone? Couldn’t tell ya. But it does provide relief for me while I wait for my migraine medication to kick in. Often times my migraines are so debilitating that I become shaky and it’s difficult to apply the necessary pressure with my hands. I really like this little gadget and would recommend it to others who suffer from migraines and headaches.
